RADM St. Angelo named Supply Corps Distinguished Alumnus.

The Navy Supply Corps Foundation, in conjunction with the Navy Supply Corps School, recently recognized the 35th Navy Supply Corps Distinguished Alumnus, Rear Admiral Donald G. St. Angelo (Ret).

Rear Adm. St. Angelo received a BBA degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1955 and a Masters Degree in Finance from the University of Minnesota in 1970. He was commissioned through the NROTC Program at the University of Wisconsin in 1955 and attended the Navy Supply Corps School in Athens, Ga.

While on active duty, Rear Adm. St. Angelo served as Assistant Supply Officer and Disbursing Officer on the USS Bonhomme Richard (CV A-31). Continuously active in the Naval Reserve, he has served on the Twin Cities Group Command Staff; Naval Reserve Readiness Command Region Sixteen as Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics; as Commanding Officer, Ships Supply Officer Division 9-3, Twin Cities; Chief of Staff, CINCPAC Detachment 216, Rock Island, Ill.; and as Commanding Officer, DCASR Chicago 613.

He has attended the Naval War College in Newport, R.I., and the Army Logistics Management Center in Fort Lee, Va.

As a Flag Officer, he was assigned to the Commander, Naval Reserve Force Flag Support Unit, with Flag oversight responsibility for DCASR, NRCC, SPCC and OCAG reserve units. His flag mobilization billet was Deputy Commander, Contract Management, Naval Supply Systems Command, Washington, D.C.


In 1995, Rear Adm. St. Angelo retired as a Senior Vice President of Dain Rauscher Inc., an investment banking firm in Minneapolis, Minn. In 2005, he retired as President of St. Joseph Bancshares, Inc., and as a member of the Board of Directors of the First State Bank of St. Joseph, Minn. Rear Adm. St. Angelo served as Chairman of the Board of Seminars International, Inc., an educational travel company in Chicago, Ill., for 30 years from 1971-2001.

He was active in many civic and professional organizations. He was a founder of Homeward Bound, Inc., of Minneapolis and served as its Treasurer and as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. He is a life member of the Naval Reserve Association, the Reserve Officers Association, and the Military Officers Association of America. He was a charter member of the Navy Supply Corps Association, and was a founding member of the Upper Midwest Chapter of the Navy Supply Corps Association.

Rear Adm. St. Angelo serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Seminars International, Inc., Chicago, Ill.; a member of the Board of Directors of the Navy Supply Corps Foundation, Athens, Ga.; and a member of the Board of Directors of Q-Ba-Maze, Inc., Minneapolis, Minn.
