RADLAN LAUNCHES THE APOLLO GIGA 8300 AND 8500 SERIES.

RADLAN Computer Communications, a developer, manufacturer and marketer of LAN networking solutions, has introduced its newest members of the Apollo family of switching routers, the Apollo Giga 8300 and 8500 series with support for 10/100/1000 Mbps. Targeted at medium-sized networks, the modular Apollo Giga family delivers flexibility, scalability and cost-effectiveness.

Non-stop Networking

The Apollo Giga routing engine includes all the advanced features of the RADLAN ROS (routing operating system). The Apollo Giga can be configured in a true redundant topology using RADLAN's Redundant Parallel Routing Algorithm (RPRA). RADLAN's RPRA is a standard TCP/IP implementation, which enables Apollo switching routers to deliver full redundancy and traffic load sharing. RPRA also allows the Apollo to coexist in redundant mode with other vendors' routers.

Centralized Management Reduces Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

Up to 27 Apollo Giga units can be managed as a single logical system with a single IP address, all operating in a single hop routing. Centralized management allows for one-time configuration of the system, the simple addition of a new switching router in minutes, and one-time firewall access control definition. Moreover, all switching routers can be viewed in a single Web-based NMS window allowing the network manager to control and monitor over 600 10/100-Mbps ports. RADLAN's centralized management contributes to a significantly reduced TCO due to its flexibility and ease of use for building, arranging and maintaining a complex network.
