RADLAN AND MARVELL: OPENSOLO 24G PRODUCTION READY GIGABIT SWITCH HARDWARE + SOFTWARE.

Radlan, Inc., a provider of embedded networking software, and Marvell (NASDAQ:MRVL) a technology provider in the development of extreme broadband communications solutions, recently announced the OpENSolO 24G platform, a production-ready 24-port Gigabit Ethernet switch design based on the Marvell GalNet-2+ switch controllers and Alaska Gigabit Ethernet transceivers.

As the market for Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in desktop LANs accelerates, OpENSolO 24G provides OEMs with an unprecedented opportunity to quickly develop an industry-leading switch.

The OpENSolO 24G product is offered as a complete production-ready hardware/software switch system design, providing OEMs with all hardware, software and documentation information needed to quickly manufacture a high-performance 24-port Gigabit Ethernet switch. Availability of this design information may reduce overall development time by up to eighteen months; significantly increasing an OEM's ability to capture market share, revenue and profits.

The OpENSolO 24G system supports features ideally suited for Gigabit-to-the-desktop applications, including IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, 802.1p packet prioritization for Quality of Service, as well as Layer 3 aware multicasting, access control and priority detection for Differentiated Services (DiffServ).

"Radlan's OpENSolO 24G is the industry's first 24-port Gigabit Switch offered to OEMs as a complete ready-for-production design," said Yoram Valent, President of Radlan, Inc. "This advanced system solution is the result of our experience in the development of integrated Radlan software and Marvell hardware for our mutual ODM and OEM customers."

"As the Gigabit market is rapidly expanding in enterprise desktop networks, OEMs are recognizing the need to quickly develop and bring to market Gigabit Ethernet switches based on Marvell's switch and transceiver products," said Gary Smerdon, Marvell's Vice President of Marketing for the Communications Business Group. "By combining Marvell's hardware products and Radlan's software into a complete solution, the OpENSolO 24G system enables our OEM customers to dramatically reduce their time-to-market."
