RADIATION SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES STORM DAMAGE AT LARGO, FLA., DIVISION
STERLING, Va., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Radiation Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: RADS) today announced that its Electromechanical Systems Division in Largo, Fla., sustained tornado damage on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Company Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard E. Thomas said that although the main fabrication building and machine shop buildings suffered damage to the roof and the walls, these areas are expected to be back in operation in six weeks. A construction contractor is on site, and cleanup is already under way.
Thomas said the upper level of the office area sustained more significant damage, and these operations have been moved to a temporary site. The damage to the other buildings is still being evaluated, but arrangements are being made to subcontract work which cannot be done on site.
Thomas said that with the major manufacturing operations back in service within six weeks, he does not expect any critical problems resulting from the delays. Thomas also noted that the division accounts for approximately 16 percent of the corporation's fiscal 1992 revenue of $127.1 million and all of the property and lost profits are fully insured.
Radiation Systems, Inc. designs, manufactures and installs a broad range of antenna turnkey systems and components for radar, air traffic control, tactical military, satellite communications, terrestrial microwave and broadcast and other specialized uses throughout the world.
