RADIATION SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES CONTRACT AWARDS TOTALLING $3.8 MILLION FOR ELECTROMECHANICAL SYSTEMS DIVISION

 STERLING, Va., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Radiation Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: RADS), today announced that its Electromechanical Systems Division (EMS) in Largo, Fla., received three contracts with options valued at $3.8 million.
 A contract worth approximately $600,000 was awarded to EMS by Hazeltine Corporation, Greenlawn, N.Y., to design and develop a pedestal assembly to meet the requirements as set forth in the MILSTAR Conventional Antenna/Pedestal Assembly (A/PA) Risk Reduction Development Program issued under the authority of Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. This first phase of a multi-stage award is to design, fabricate, assemble, test and deliver a quantity of one Advanced Development Model (ADM) assembly. An additional 100 production units could be ordered in the future from this initial award.
 American Electronic Laboratories, Inc. (AEL), of Lansdale, Pa., awarded EMS a contract worth approximately $200,000 with unfunded options of up to $1.3 million. The contract is to design and fabricate an antenna drive assembly for the AN/ALQ-99 Airborne 9/10 Transmitter. The drive system is a portion of the U.S. Navy EA-6B Aircraft Electronic Counter-Measure (ECM) system.
 A contract worth approximately $1.7 million was awarded by Naval Sea Systems command, Washington. The contract is to conduct restoration activities on 16 AN/SPS-49(V) radar antenna pedestals. The radar is a long-range two-dimensional air search radar used on U.S. Navy combatant ships. EMS has been designated as the Navy repair depot for the AN/SPS-49(V) radar.
