RADA ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIES REPORTS FIRST QUARTER RESULTS
HERZLIYA PITUACH, Israel, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Rada Electronic Industries Limited (NASDAQ: RADIF) announced that its first quarter 1992 sales rose to $7,020,000 from $6,260,000 in 1991, while its net income for the quarter was $21,000 as compared to $140,000 in 1991. Costs incurred in the marketing and development of CATS and other products continued to weigh on the first quarter earnings.
Haim Nissenson, president of Rada, noted that during the first quarter the company continued to focus its energies on the development of new markets for its products, with emphasis being placed on the marketing of its automated test equipment known as CATS (Commercial Aviation Test Station) to commercial airlines and maintenance centers.
The company recently received a new order for its CATS product from a maintenance center which will use its units to support DC-10 aircraft. In addition CATS and several applications for its use were approved by a North American airline and the aviation authorities of the country in which its operates. Nissenson noted that the continued early acceptance of the CATS provides optimism for its future success in the commercial marketplace.
Rada, an Israeli based corporation with subsidiaries in the U.S. and Europe, is engaged in the design, development and manufacture of computers, avionic equipment and automated test equipment and in the distribution and sale of electronic components.
