R2-D2 NICKED.

STAR Wars favourite R2-D2 has been stolen from a display of movie props.

Roman Guettinger, who has the biggest private collection of its kind outside Hollywood, said the thieves had targeted the famous droid as other valuable props had been ignored.

He said the Star Wars robot, one of several used in the filming of the original movie, was worth thousands of pounds.

Guettinger has more than 2500 items in his collection in Thurgau, Switzerland.

It includes the monster from the Alien films and the original Batmobile from the Batman films.
