R.R. DONNELLEY FORMS SPECIALIZED PUBLISHING SERVICES

 CHICAGO, July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company (NYSE: DNY), the world's largest commercial printer, has completed its purchase of the Special Interest Magazine (SIM) Group of Ringier America, Inc. and has created Specialized Publishing Services, a unit of its Magazine Group.
 The new business unit includes a 240,000-square-foot plant in Pontiac, Ill., and a 140,000-square-foot plant in Senatobia, Miss., in addition to the Combined Communication Services (CCS) plant in Mendota, Ill., which R.R. Donnelley purchased in late 1992.
 The latest acquisition's 900 employees produce trade association, business-to-business and medical publications, as well as city and regional magazines.
 "In combining the former SIM operation with our CCS subsidiary, we've strengthened our service to this specialized magazine publishing segment," said Edward E. Lane, president of R.R. Donnelley's Magazine Group. "We're already planning investments in both our new plants," he continued, citing prepress enhancements in Senatobia and a Selectronic(R) perfect binder to be installed in Pontiac.
