R.J. ARVESEN APPOINTED DIRECTOR, AIR FORCE DELTA PROGRAMS

 HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonnell Douglas Aerospace has appointed R.J. (Rick) Arvesen to the position of director, Air Force Delta Programs. In his new assignment Arvesen will implement and manage Air Force Delta contracts and will have overall responsibility for design, production and successful launch of the Delta II as required by the U.S. Air Force.
 Arvesen's career at McDonnell Douglas spans more than 25 years, 23 of which have been spent on the Delta program. He has extensive experience in payload integration support and served as chief design engineer for Delta NASA/Commercial missions.
 During the upgrade of the vehicle to the Delta II, Arvesen provided overall management and integration of the qualification test program.
 Prior to his promotion, Arvesen served as director of Product Engineering and Definition in McDonnell Douglas Aerospace's Space Transportation Division. His responsibilities included design and analysis, mission support and production support for the Delta II and Titan fairing programs.
 Arvesen received a bachelor of science degree in applied mathematics and engineering physics from the University of Wisconsin in 1967.
