 R. J. FIORINI NAMED PRESIDENT OF ASAMERA MINERALS
 CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective immediately,


Richard J. Fiorini has been named president and chief executive officer of Asamera Minerals Inc. (Toronto, Montreal: AUA). He replaces Russell L. Wood who is retiring as an officer of the company but will remain on the board of directors.
 Fiorini brings to Asamera over 30 years of mining experience, including management of mining operations, development projects and exploration. He has served in a variety of senior capacities with several major companies. Most recently he was president, chief operating officer and a director of St. Genevieve Resources Ltd. and president, chief executive officer and a director of Louvem Mines Inc., both in Montreal. With Asamera, he will be located in Wenatchee, Wash.
 Asamera Minerals is a publicly traded company that explores for, develops and produces gold and silver. The company's principal assets are a 51 percent interest in the Cannon Mine at Wenatchee and its interests in exploration properties which include the promising gold discoveries at Meliadine River and Meadowbank in the Northwest Territories.
