R?ESEARCH ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF WILLIAM T. LENNON JR.

 BUFFALO, N.Y., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Comptek Research, Inc. (AMEX: CTK, BSE: CTK) announced today that William T. Lennon Jr., President and CEO of both Comptek Telecommunications, Inc. ("CTI") and Industrial Systems Service, Inc. ("ISS"), has decided to retire effective August 27, 1993. Lennon, who will be 58 in August, has expressed a desire to spend more time with his wife Sally and their seven children.
 Lennon joined Comptek in 1985 and has served in numerous high-level positions related to Comptek's manufacturing capabilities. He has been a valued Comptek employee who has demonstrated particular expertise in the manufacture of high-quality electronic components and finished goods. Dr. John R. Cummings, Chairman, President and CEO of Comptek Research, Inc., the parent company of CTI and ISS, has indicated that the company will continue to build on the foundations Mr. Lennon put in place while it begins a search for a successor. In the interim, Mr. Lennon will continue to offer advice and counsel. The Board of Directors has designated Dr. Cummings as acting President and CEO of CTI and ISS, while Christopher A. Head, Executive Vice President for Comptek Research, Inc., will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of CTI and ISS until the selection of a successor to Mr. Lennon.
