Quintessent Announces Alliance With IGS, Inc.; Quintessent Enhances Integration Offering with Middleware Expertise from IGS.
REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 28, 2001
Quintessent(R) Communications, Inc. (www.quintessent.net), a leader in electronically integrated telecommunications service ordering, and IGS, a leading provider of middleware-independent transformation and universal adapter development tools, announced today an alliance to jointly develop OSS integration capabilities to Quintessent products, utilizing IGS's eJAI tool.
The alliance enables seamless integration of Quintessent's service fulfillment applications to leading middleware and OSS products with minimal customization. Provider benefits include dramatic acceleration in time-to-market, elimination of ordering errors due to manual processes, substantial reduction of development and maintenance costs, resulting in faster provisioning and reliable flow through, and increased customer satisfaction.
"Quintessent understands how the changes in ordering practices by Trading Partners have a ripple affect with the OSS integration projects of our customers," said Dave Deutschman, chief technology officer for Quintessent. "We believe the partnership with IGS to leverage middleware will provide our customers with a cost effective solution for integrating Quintessent's product line to their other OSSs, resulting in the most efficient flow-through service provisioning available."
The challenge for providers is keeping up with proprietary and standards based messaging. IGS' eJai automatically maps application IDL or XML; in addition to proprietary middleware product connectivity, eUA offers J2EE compliance for CORBA or proprietary protocol application APIs. "IGS enables Quintessent to deliver integrated solutions with speed and greater value to service providers. IGS' eJai Universal Adapter(TM) and eJai Transform(TM) minimizes the impact of API churn across integration architectures," said Dave Appel, vice president of Integration Solutions. "Quintessent understands the challenge and benefit, and is addressing it by incorporating eJai. It's refreshing to see our solutions adopted into Quintessent's strategy to further define their competitive edge."

IGS, Inc. is an innovative provider of next generation OSS and NMS integration solutions. Specializing in creating the software infrastructure that provides control over the network and the services provisioned on that network, IGS offers complete development and integration solutions to the communications industry. IGS' eJai is a set of middleware-independent transformation and universal adapter development tools. eJai loosely couples applications, reducing dependencies between them so that they may evolve without affecting each other. While tightly coupling applications accomplishes immediate integration, the system is not scalable and requires increased maintenance as the applications evolve over time. IGS' eJai Universal Adapter (eUA) builds upon the standards-based and protocol neutral approach, enabling a middleware independent adapter development framework that bridges application APIs and middleware technologies.
