Quick return for Anthony Fowler after latest stoppage success; Frenchman suffers first pro defeat to the Scouse 'Machine'.
ANTHONY FOWLER continued his education in the professional ranks with another stoppage win.
The 27-year-old was back in action in his first fight of the calendar year on Saturday.
Fowler formed part of the supporting cast to Dillian Whyte's chilling knockout of Lucas Browne as he retained his WBC Silver heavyweight title at the O2 Arena.
And 'The Machine' stepped up to the plate against previously undefeated Frenchman Kalilou Dembele in London.
Dembele, now 6-1-2 with two early, was fighting for the first time out of France, but the Dave Coldwell-trained Fowler sent him back with his tail between his legs.
The Commonwealth Games gold medal winner stopped his fellow 27-year-old in the fifth round and is scheduled to be back in the ring on April 21 at the ECHO Arena in Liverpool, as part of the undercard to Amir Khan's long-awaited comeback against Phil Lo Greco at a 150-pound catchweight.
"It was a good fight, he was an unbeaten fighter, he came to win," Fowler told Sky Sports after his win. "The knockout was a bit premature, but I was getting into my groove.

"In some ways the referee saved him from a heavy knockout that could have damaged his career."
Fowler dropped Dembele with a short left hook in the second and hammered the Frenchman to the body with crunching shots to the ribs. Several times the brave visitor blew a stream of blood from his nose, before the finish at the start of the fifth, as ex-Team GB star Fowler landed a lovely right uppercut to end the fight.
