Quick fix test to detect deadly bug.
The firm,Artus,is now distributing a virus detection test for the presence of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.
``The prompt results of the test allows immediate countermeasures by fast diagnosis, e. g.of travellers. By this, the rapid spread of the disease can be prevented,'' the firm's website said.
There have been 3,000 cases of Sars so far,most in south east Asia, and more than 140 people have died. As many as seven Britons are feared to have caught the bug.
Hamburg-based Artus said its test can detect Sars in two hours, whereas traditional tests for antibodies take 10 days.
