Q IF British recording artists cease to receive royalties after 50 years then who gets them? Joe McSorley Glasgow

A AFTER 50 years a record company loses the exclusive rights to sell and distribute a recording and it's available to anyone wishing to set up a record label and reissue it.

The person who composed that song, however, is entitled to exclusive rights to their music and royalty payments for their entire life, and their estate 70 years afterwards.
