NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-2 September 2009-Questerre CEO says Quebec shale gas production to start in 2011(C)1994-2009 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

2 September 2009 - Oslo-listed Questerre Energy Corporation (OSL: QEC) sees upside potential in the shale gas reserves in its project in the St. Lawrence Lowlands of Quebec in Canada and expects to start production in early 2011, CEO Michael Binnion said.

"The estimates of the reserves are not aggressive and there is a clear upside potential there," Binnion said today at Pareto Securities' Oil and Offshore Conference in Oslo.

Yesterday, Canada-based Questerre announced that US oil and gas consulting firm Netherland, Sewell & Associates Inc (NSAI) had assessed the prospective shale gas in the St. Lawrence Lowlands at 150 billion cubic ft (bcf) per square mile, which is 66% higher than earlier industry figures.
