Quasar International Announces Election of J. Michael Williams to Board of Directors.

ALBUQUERQUE -- Quasar International (Quasar) announced today that J. Michael Williams, former manufacturing manager for component operations of General Motors, has been elected to the board of directors. Williams will assume his board duties immediately, focusing initially on assisting Quasar's strategic business development efforts in the automotive industry and its suppliers.

Williams retired from General Motors in August 2003, after 42 years with that company. He rose from an hourly GMI co-op student at the Delco Remy Division through management and director positions with Delco Remy, the Oldsmobile Division, Buick-Oldsmobile-Cadillac Group, GM Corporate Purchasing, Central Foundry Division and on to GM.

"We are pleased to have a person with Mike's industry experience, management depth, and business insight serving on our board," said Jim Schwarz, president of Quasar International. "He brings a wealth of practical experience in the industry we primarily serve, automotive parts manufacturing."

"I am excited about this opportunity to make a contribution to Quasar's growth and development," stated Williams. "The advanced state-of-the-art technology they bring to NDT is uniquely powerful, and can result in significant improvements in quality as well as reductions in part and system costs. The use of this leading-edge high-technology in a production application represents a huge opportunity to improve the quality, efficiency and competitiveness of manufacturing processes."

About Quasar International

Quasar International manufactures and sells its proprietary Process Compensated Resonant Inspection Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) systems to manufacturers worldwide. Quasar PCRI is a proven NDT method that offers highest quality defect detection at significantly lower cost than traditional methods. Quasar reliably assesses the internal quality of parts by vibrating the part, measuring its resonant frequencies, and statistically comparing those resonances with a reference data set. The result is a completely automatable process, which quantitatively measures the strength of a component. Quasar International is headquartered in Albuquerque, N.M., with application engineers and sales representatives based in key locations in the United States, Europe, Japan and China.
