Quark enhances QuarkDMS system with new media portal module.
The US publishing software developer Quark Inc has released a module called Media Portal XTensions for its Quark Digital Media System (QuarkDMS).
The new module is designed to enable companies using QuarkDMS to free content from the creative department and make it easily available online, via an intranet site, to everyone within the organisation. By accessing the web site users will be able to search for, view and retrieve media files, and files that are accessed frequently can then be stored in a media basket that functions like an online shopping cart.
The module also allows companies to restrict confidential files to validated users, while public files can be made available to any site visitor. In addition, because the system is based on XML and XSLT technology, the web site can be customised to provide new features and reflect brand identity.
Pricing details were not revealed.
