Quark adds support for Indian languages to publishing software.
Quark India Ltd, a subsidiary of the US-based Quark Inc, has released an Indian-language version of the QuarkXpress publishing software.
The new QuarkXpress Mudra product offers a range of features for Indian-language publishing, including customisable keyboards, large character and conjunct sets, spell checkers and customisable text entry options.
The software also has a font filter utility to allow users to work with almost any Indian-language font format. In addition users will be able to import and export Indian Standard Code for Information Interchange (ISCII) text.
The initial version of QuarkXPress Mudra supports the Hindi, Sanskrit, Marathi and Nepali languages. Quark India is also developing a Mac OS version of the software.
No price was disclosed.
