Quakers to reveal new deal; Darlington FC.
ONE new sponsor - Darlington will be ready to name their new shirt sponsor in the coming days, but there will be no change in the stadium deal.
Rumours of a new stadium sponsor are wide of the mark. The only reason one of the company's two name signs has been removed is because it was damaged by the weather. It will be replaced.
The stadium is now owned by Philip Scott and Graham Sizer, though Darlington chairman Raj Singh hopes to gain control in the future.
Quakers enjoyed a cash windfall from Friday night's friendly with Newcastle. The crowd of 9721 included 6183 Newcastle fans, yet the Premier League club agreed to play for travel expenses only, so Darlington will benefit from the rest of the gate money.
The Darlington team have started a short tour of the south. They play at Staines this evening, then take on Brackley Town on Wednesday.
Darlington's next home game is against Boro on Saturday, though they will be without Paul Arnison, injured against Newcastle.
The leg strain he picked up may sideline him for three weeks. Fellow full back Aaron Brown is out with a thigh tear but should be fit for the start of the season next month.
