Quabaug Corp.

Quabaug Corp. is halting activity within its profitable custom mixing division by the end of the year in order to boost efficiency, the company reported. The North Brookfield, MA, company will now concentrate on its footwear business, which it began in 1916. Quabaug will discontinue all custom mixing orders with the exception of large volume mixes of one or two compounds for a few local area customers. It will continue making mixes for use in its footwear. About 10 jobs will be eliminated as a result. The company has contacted all clients regarding the decision and is offering mixing instruction and help to facilitate the transition. Quabaug mixed several million pounds of product annually.
