Qtel posts Q1 profits totaling QAR 711 mln.

| DOHA, April 30 (KUNA) -- Qatar Telecommunications Company (Qtel) said on Monday that the company's net profit reached Qatari Riyal (QAR) 711 million in the first quarter of 2012, a 12 percent decrease when compared to same period of last year.

(one Dollar equals QAR 3.64) Qtell said in a statement, that revenue per share was QR 3.11 in the first quarter, also a drop when compared to same period of last year which was QR 11.


The statement added revenues have jumped 7.6 percent (QR eight million), against 7.5 percent in the same period of last year.

Qtel operates in 12 countries, and has a share in Kuwait Wataniya Telecommunication, and Omani Al-Nawras Company. (end) ma.mb KUNA 302218 Apr 12NNNN
