QlikTech Unveils New Web Services Support with the Release of QlikView 7.5; BI Leader Brings the Power of Memory-Based Analysis to SOA, and Releases Open Source Connector to Salesforce.com.
"A Web Service environment offers businesses tremendous flexibility in deploying software. It allows users to instantly call on the applications they need - security, order management, tracking, general ledger - without having to install software locally," said Anthony Deighton, vice president of marketing for QlikTech. "One of the most important issues in web services today is building analysis across a Web Services environment. QlikView 7.5 enables organizations to optimize business processes across the entire enterprise, regardless of where data resides."
While a Web Services environment does allow businesses to make a variety of software functions public behind the firewall using standards such as XML, SOAP and UDDI, it does not proscribe a foolproof way of analyzing that data - especially when that data resides in multiple disparate Web Services. QlikTech's Web Services Plug-in API enables end-users to access Web Services data that is often stored in custom data sources throughout the enterprise. The Web Services Plug-in API is one of several enhancements in QlikView version 7.5 (see accompanying release for more details) that improve ease-of-use and streamline the functions of application development and administration.
QlikTech is committed to making QlikView the most open, versatile business intelligence software solution in the world. With the release of QlikView 7.5, the company has enabled customers to plug into virtually any data source, including SOA sources. In addition to including the Web Services Plug-in API with QlikView 7.5, QlikTech is making the API available free of charge to developers building a service-based plug-in to QlikView.
QlikTech is leading a new class of easy-to-use, fast and flexible business analysis solutions that empower individuals to improve corporate performance and drive innovation. QlikTech's flagship product, QlikView 7.5, extends the company's vision of simplifying business analysis, offering solutions that can be deployed in days, where users can be trained in minutes, and where end users have the freedom to be more creative in their analyses.
