Qawmi Madrasas to hold rally in city on Nov 4.

Al Haiatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatul Kawmiya Bangladesh will hold a 'Shukrana Mahfil' (thanks giving rally) on November 4 in the city, hailing the government for giving the Dawra-e-Hadith (Taqmil) of Qawmi Madrasas the status of master's degree, reports BSS. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the mahfil at Suhrawardy Udyan as the chief guest at 9 am while Al Haiatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatul Kawmiya Bangladesh Chairman Allama Ahmad Shafi will be in the chair. Teachers and students of the Qawmi Madrasas have been invited to attend the mahfil to make it a success.

A preparatory meeting was held at Peerjangi Mazar Madrasah in the city on Tuesday for holding the mahfil. Al Haiatul Ulaya Co-chairman Ashraf Ali presided over the preparatory meeting while Mufti Muhammad Wakkas, Befaq Secretary General Mawlana Muhammad Abdul Quddus, Mawlana Mohammad Nurul Islam and Mufti Ruhul Amin attended the meeting, among others. On September 19, a bill titled 'Dawra-e-Hadith (Taqmil) from Qawmi Madrasas as equivalent to certificate of master's degree (Islamic Studies and Arabic) under Al Haiatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatul Kawmiya Bangladesh' 2018 was passed in parliament.
