In a bid to encourage use of artificial lift technologies in oil production operations throughout the Middle East region, Qatar will host the 8th Middle East Artificial Lift Forum (MEALF) from February 3-5.

"We expect over 400 industry professionals to attend the three-day event and so far around 150 papers have already been submitted by technical experts of the industry," Manager of Dukhan Field Development Khaled al Ansari said while giving details about the forum.

He said there will be a representation of over 25 countries by around 40 exhibitors as MEALF 2015 is emerging as the only dedicated event for the artificial lift industry in the region, and it will provide an opportunity for networking with industry professionals, top executives and decision makers.

The forum will be inaugurated by Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of Qatar Petroleum (QP), His Excellency Mohammed bin Saleh al Sada.

Taking place after every two years, MEALF plays an important role in providing the best technical solutions while promoting knowledge sharing and creating a best practice centre to meet the future needs of the industry.

To be held with the theme of"Lifting Our Future," the forum will consist of an exhibition, a conference and various workshops. The exhibition will showcase all the equipment, technologies and services related to artificial lift operations. It will also keep delegates abreast with the latest products and the newest technologies that are now available in the market.

The conference will consist of informative presentations and forum discussion sessions that will feature high-profile speakers focusing on all aspects of artificial lift as an important component of oil production activities.

Bringing together the best technical specialists under one roof, the conference will focus on documenting excellent learning case studies and best practices in artificial lift topics, thus providing first-hand information on key issues and developments.

The presentations will be carefully selected by renowned individuals in the oil and gas industry, thus delivering an exciting program with sessions focusing on"New Technology,""Artificial Lift Design,""Automation, Surveillance & Optimization,""Complex Systems,""Harsh Environment,""Reliability & Failure Analysis,""Artificial Lift Challenges and Best Practices".

The eighth edition of MEALF will witness an initiative of being a o[umlaut]Green Event' where the use of paper will be discouraged throughout the duration of the forum.

To do so, each delegate will be provided with an iPad that has full access to the MEALF App. It will contain all information regarding the event and will be easily accessible by all the participants, since it will be available on all iOS devices.
