Qatar takes part in WHO Regional Office meeting.

QNA Beirut Qatar participated in the high-level meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, on institutional capacity for the use of evidence in health policy-making. The meeting, being held in Lebanon, will conclude on Tuesday. Assistant Secretary-General for Medical Affairs at the Ministry of Public Health Saleh bin Ali al Marri is heading Qatar's delegation to the meeting which is discussing a number of important issues, notably the identification of the key elements of a regional strategy to strengthen and expand institutional capacity for the use of evidence in policy-making process. The meeting, which began on Sunday, is also examining the best ways of translating different sources of knowledge into practical policy in the region, and is also elaborating and discussing the outcomes of the recent WHO-led surveys on evidence generation and utilisation for health policy-making.
