Qantas considers moving engineering and maintenance offshore.
Australian airline Qantas Airways has said that it has been considering a substantial restructure of its engineering and maintenance.
The restructure would be part of a plan to cut costs by about AUD1.5bn in 2007-2008, with a decision on whether to relocate operations within Australia or move offshore due to be made within the next three to four months.
CEO Geoff Dixon has said that the airline has no choice but to make significant changes to this part of the company, Reuters reported.
