Qantas aircraft hit by cargo lorry in Los Angeles.

A Boeing 747 operated by Qantas Airways was hit by a cargo lorry as it was taxiing to a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday (14 August).

The collision reportedly damaged the aircraft's engine but no-one was injured. The Associated Press reported that the aircraft was carrying more than 300 people from Australia and was hit when it had just landed.

According to a report from the US Federal Aviation Administration the damage to the engine was "substantial".
