Qafac and GWC sign warehousing, records agreement.

Qatar Fuel Additives Company Limited (Qafac) has signed an agreement for records management services and storage facilities with Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC). This was announced by Nasser Jeham al-Kuwari, general manager of Qafac.

Under the agreement, GWC will index, catalogue and archive all essential documents of Qafac at its state-of-the-art facility in Industrial Area. GWC will also provide storage facilities approved by Civil Defence and compliant with international standards for chemical storage, pressurised containers and spare parts with online visibility through its warehouse management system software.

Qafac has also entered into agreement with GWC, appointing the latter as its freight forwarder for import and export of all material as sea freight.

"We are delighted to have been awarded this contract after our competitive bid. GWC has been providing Qafac with several logistical services and the addition of warehousing will strengthen the partnership between the two companies. GWC constantly strives to add value to customers by providing efficient and cost-effective supply chain solutions," said Abdulaziz al-Taleb, managing director, board member and acting group CEO of GWC.

Qafac's offsite storage will be managed at GWC's new warehousing facilities at Mesaieed, which have been conceptualised and developed to service Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC) companies.

"Our new facilities at MIC have been equipped with the latest in-rack sprinkler systems as well as wireless coverage within the warehouses for full radio-frequency (paperless) operations. These warehouses are also equipped with specialised camera-mounted forklifts for maximum safety and a team that is fully trained in HSE and dangerous goods operations," said Nader Hakim, COO of GWC.
