Qadissiya univ. celebrates 23rd anniversary Wed.

DIWANIYA / Aswat al-Iraq: The University of al-Qadissiya is getting ready to celebrate its 23rd anniversary on Wednesday, according to the university's information director.

"Established in 1987 with only two colleges, the establishment now includes 11 colleges and several research centers that were set up after 2003," Ali al-Zayadi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He said that the university's Closed Hall, designed in the shape of ancient Sumerian architecture, will boast hosting a the 1st international conference on computer science next year. Qadissiya lies 175 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
