 QUICKTURN SIGNS ON CHIPS AND TECHNOLOGIES;
 NEWEST ON GROWING LIST OF SEMICONDUCTOR CUSTOMERS
 MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Chips and Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: CHPS) has joined the swelling ranks of semiconductor companies that have added Quickturn's RPMplus Emulation System to their design verification methodology, it was announced today.
 Chips and Technologies will use the RPMplus to expedite future development of the PC/CHIP product family, a low-power processor line designed specifically for palm-top and notebook computer applications. The new phase of product development includes complete integration of a full line of peripheral functions such as memory and I/O controllers.
 Bob Pleva, Chips and Technologies Integrated Systems Products director of engineering, commented, "PC/CHIP was named Product of the Year by Byte Magazine and is key to our company's product differentiation. Quickturn's hardware emulation technology allows us to emulate all new interfaces and get to market much faster with a higher degree of confidence than we could with simulation alone. The RPM will play an important role in the development of this and future product lines."
 Quickturn Systems Inc. is the technology and market leader for hardware emulation systems. Quickturn's fourth generation product, the RPMplus Emulation System(TM), is a reprogrammable hardware emulator that enables design verification for systems using ASICs or full custom chip. Emulation of chip designs allows complete systems operation before fabricating silicon and reduces project risk, lowers development costs, and shortens time to market. Quickturn is headquartered at 325 E. Middlefield Rd., Mountain View, CA 94043. Telephone: 415-967-3300.
 CHIPS and Technologies Inc. is the world's leading supplier of integrated silicon, software, and design services to the worldwide microcomputer industry.
