Irish Dream Debs 2010, TV3 Wednesday, 9pm

WE all remember our Debs. How could you ever forget (Delete as appropriate) getting all gussied up in an enormous flouncy dress/ half-strangling yourself with your first tux?

Personally I'll never forget ending up in a field full of curious cows, half-locked, at four o'clock in the morning. But the Debs nowadays are a much more serious, and expensive, proposition. Gone are the days when you could make do with the fanciest rig-out in your best friend's sister's wardrobe.

No, now you need a brand new dress - designer, naturally - complete with shoes, handbag, and professional hair and make-up.

And as for twisting the arm of your best friend's brother to go with you - forget it. If your fella isn't David Beckham-perfect, down to his man-tan and pricey corsage, there's just no way.

This special TV3 documentary takes an in-depth look at the most important night out in most schoolkids' lives.

Presenter Henry McKean looks at the moment where, officially at least, we all grow up, the moment we leave school, as thousands of teens get ready to step into the real world.

Oh, and for all of you who didn't have the greatest night ever, console yourselves with the words of Homer Simpson - it's just the biggest night of your life so far.
