QUEBECOR PRINTING (USA) HOLDINGS INC. ACQUIRES SAN JOSE PRINTING PLANT
 MONTREAL, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Quebecor Inc. (AMEX: PQB) today announced that Quebecor Printing (USA) Holdings Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quebecor Printing Inc., has purchased, for a cash consideration of U.S. $29.5 million, the Arcata Graphics printing plant located in San Jose, Calif. The 249,000 sq. ft. facility gives Quebecor Printing Inc., North America's second largest commercial printer, a strategically important West Coast facility in the United States that will serve long-run publication and retail insert customers.
 The San Jose plant, built in 1967, has 320 employees and had sales of U.S. $41 million in 1991. It has three gravure presses which specialize in the printing of high circulation weekly publications. Quebecor Printing Inc., a North American leader in the printing of retail inserts for newspapers, plans to add insert work to the plant's product mix, as well as additional growth from existing customers.
 Current customers at San Jose include three Sunday newspaper magazines (Parade, USA Weekend, and the Sunday magazine of the San Jose Mercury News), as well as The National Enquirer, The Star, and TV Guide.
 Quebecor Printing Inc., a subsidiary of Quebecor Inc., has 56 plants located throughout North America. It is a leader in web offset, rotogravure and sheetfed printing, and prints directories, magazines, Sunday magazines, securities, flyers, inserts, books, newspapers, catalogs, annual reports and more.
 The Class A shares (multiple voting shares) of Quebecor Inc. are listed on the Montreal Exchange, the Toronto Stock Exchange and the American Stock Exchange. The Class B subordinate voting shares are listed on the Montreal and Toronto Stock Exchanges.

It is also involved in publications and records distribution and retail.
