HOUSTON, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released today by Quanex Corporation (NYSE: NX):
On Aug. 25, 1993, at about 11 p.m., Nichols-Homeshield's aluminum cold rolling facility at Lincolnshire, Ill., experienced a fire in the larger of its two rolling mills. No injuries were reported. The extent of the damage to the mill is currently being evaluated and company officials have indicated that it will be several days before the full extent of the damage is known.
Management at the Lincolnshire plant has set in motion alternative plans to accommodate its customers during the outage.
Nichols-Homeshield has two cold rolling facilities, one in Lincolnshire, the other in Davenport, Iowa. The current production loading on the Lincolnshire facility is less than that of the Davenport facility. Management is diverting to its Davenport cold rolling facility customer orders beginning today.
