 QUAKER STATE SUBSIDIARY AND CUSTOMER FORM A JOINT VENTURE
 OIL CITY, Pa., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Quaker State Minit-Lube, Inc., the fast lube subsidiary of Quaker State Corporation (NYSE: KSF), has formed a joint venture with Lubrication Management Company, Inc., Norwalk, Conn., one of the nation's largest independent fast lube companies, it was announced today.
 It operates ten ExpressWay Lube Centers in Connecticut and Westchester and Rockland County, N.Y.
 The purpose of the joint venture will be to develop and operate additional ExpressWay Lube Centers in New England, New York and New Jersey. It will also entertain the possibility of acquiring existing lube centers, should they become available.
 Albert R. Chance, president and owner of Lubrication Management Co., says, "This joint venture will merge our knowledge of the northeast market and our proven management systems with Minit-Lube's strong financing, marketing and operating systems capability. Both companies have built their business reputation on the strength of Quaker State motor oil, and it will be the product of choice in all of our future operations."
 Quaker State Minit-Lube, Inc., is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, and operates or franchises 450 fast lube service centers in 26 states and the province of Ontario, Canada, under the names Minit-Lube, McQuik's Oilube, and Q Lube.
