QATAR LOWERS DEMAND TO $14-16 PER MMBTU.
As energy prices witnessed a sharp decline in the global market following increased supply of LNG Qatar has revised its LNG price demand downward to seal a deal with Pakistan. This was stated by Shoaib Warsi Managing Director Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) while talking to a select group of journalists and research analyst-PAGE on Friday. He said "Qatar Gas which was demanding $18 per Million British Thermal Unit (mmbtu) has now cut its demand to $14-16 per mmbtu. LNG spot price had come down to $10 per mmbtu. He said the LNG pricing committee had been formed to negotiate LNG price with Qatar Gas. He maintained that terms and conditions of the agreement were being finalized and LNG price was expected to be finalized in December.
