QAT holds protest against issues facing Tharparkar.
MITHI -- A large number of Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) workers took out a rally and staged a demonstration outside the NagarAparkar press club on ThurAsday to register their protest against lawlessness, the alleged indifferent attitude of the coal mining firm working there and other issues facing the desert region.
Addressing the protesters, QAT Thar chapter leaders advocate Shahnawaz HingAorjo, Mohammad Nohrio and Irshad Samoon strongly condemned the police's failure in arresting the killers of two trader brothers murdered in Mithi town during a robbery attempt in January.
They alleged that instead of tracing the real killers, Thar police rounded up innocent people to mint money in the name of taking action.
They lashed out at the local PPP leadership for interference in the probe into the double murder, which was going in the right direction.
The QAT leaders also criticised the mining firm for its failure to fulfil commitments with local people regarding jobs and other facilities in Thar coalfield area and the construction of controversial waste-water reservoir at Gorano.
