PwC has appointed industry veteran Tony Peake as Global Leader of its Government & Public Services (G&PS) practice.

In his new role, Tony leads the G&PS practice team, which advises clients in local, regional, national and global government entities across a range of areas including cities, defense and security, digital government, education, international development, local government and public finance. The practice has around 12,000 professionals worldwide.

Tony has been with PwC for over 30 years and is the lead partner for Defence at PwC Australia. In addition to his client work he has held a variety of leadership positions spanning finance, governance and general management. As National Government & Public Sector Leader at PwC Australia from 2012-2018, he provided oversight for all services to state, territory and the Australian federal governments. A partner in the Australian firm, Tony served as PwC Australia's COO for four years. When he was named a managing partner in PwC's Melbourne office in 1999, he consulted on a wide range of client programs and projects, with a focus in the education sector.

Notes

Tony earned a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from RMIT University in Melbourne, majoring in accounting and economics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. He has attended numerous continuing education programs, including PwC programs run by the Melbourne Business School and the Australian Graduate School of Management. In 2010, Tony was elevated to Victorian Fellow status by the Institute of Public Administration Australia as recognition for his contribution to public administration as a consultant and business leader.

Throughout his professional career, Tony has been an active volunteer with non profit organisations and charity boards in the government, education, finance transformation, operations and arts sectors. He is currently Chair of Methodist Ladies' College in Melbourne. His past community roles include council member of the University of Melbourne; director of Melbourne University Publishing and board director and treasurer of the Melbourne Festival.
