Putt-Putt Joins the Circus from Humongous Entertainment Offers Big Top Fun for Children of All Ages; Kids Can Enter Sweepstakes and Win ''Circus Trip of a Lifetime''.
BOTHELL, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 11, 2000
Humongous Entertainment(R), an Infogrames, Inc. company (Nasdaq:GTISD), invites children of all ages to join an adventure filled with spectacular spectacles, daring feats and humorous new friends in Putt-Putt(R) Joins the Circus(TM), now available on CD-ROM. Putt-Putt and his pal Pep(TM) take kids on a fun-filled quest through the Big Top, utilizing their problem-solving and memory skills to fix the mayhem and help get the five main circus acts ready to perform. Putt-Putt Joins the Circus, designed for children ages 3 to 8, is now available in retail stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $24.99.
In addition to exploring the circus with Putt-Putt, fans can enter the "Circus Trip of a Lifetime" Sweepstakes for a chance to experience circuses from around the globe. One grand prize winner will receive a trip for four to see five world-famous circuses, including Cirque du Soleil and the Peking Chinese Acrobats, in exciting locales such as Milan, Zurich, San Francisco, New York and Orlando. 25 first place winners will receive a one-year supply of The Original Circus Animal Cookies(R) and 500 second place winners will receive Humongous Entertainment's popular arcade-style game, Putt-Putt and Pep's Balloon-O-Rama(TM). The contest runs from July 1 to September 30, 2000. Kids can enter online at www.humongous.com, or with entry forms found at local retail outlets or on bags of The Original Circus Animal Cookies.
In their sixth adventure, Putt-Putt and Pep arrive at the circus to find the ringmaster, Mr. B.J. Sweeney, and the circus itself, in a state of disarray. When B.J. Sweeney's Big Top Circus was set up, nothing was put in the right place and the five main acts are refusing to perform without their props. In Putt-Putt Joins the Circus, kids help Putt-Putt sort out the circus and get everyone back into the ring in time for the evening performance.
"The circus is a place full of adventure, excitement and fun. Putt-Putt Joins the Circus allows children to take those same experiences home where they can be enjoyed time and time again," said Andy Hieke, senior vice president and general manager, Humongous Entertainment.
While exploring under the Big Top, in the animal tents and around the performers' trailers, Putt-Putt and Pep encounter many entertaining circus characters including:
-- Phillipe the Flea, a star act from the French Circus who
prefers the finer things in life
-- Honko the Clown, who speaks only in Honkish, making it
difficult to communicate with him if you don't have the
-- Reginald the Lion, a regal actor who has an ego to match the
size of his roar
-- Ivan the Semi-Strong Van, who, without the help of Pectoro the
Strong Van's secret power shake, only has the strength of a
-- The Flying Porkowskis, Herb, Pearl and Hammy are the circus'
world-famous flying trapeze act who take to heart the old
saying "when pigs fly", but only with a safety net
As children discover the behind-the-scenes world of the circus, a wide variety of hand-drawn locations and revolving puzzle solutions enable them to find something new each time they play. Puzzles, musical surprises, mini arcade-style games and click points offer hours of additional fun. Kids can take the peanut challenge and shoot peanuts into hungry car mouths; create their own clown face with funny noses, ears, eyes and hats; test their skills at magic card concentration; concoct their own power shake and watch Putt-Putt's reaction to see how it tastes; or sing-along with the circus animals and performers.
