Putin follows in Stalin's footsteps.

It has been 75 years since the beginning of World War II. The Nazi, Hitler, is forgotten by most today. The other scourge of Europe, Russia, is at its usual conquest of others. Ukraine does not want to be governed by the murdering Russians. Ukrainians of my age remember the pogroms or starvation induced by the Russian communists. Survivors were sent to numerous gulags in Siberia, where they died slowly.

Ukraine has the most fertile land in Europe, if not in the world. The Don basin in Ukraine has most of the nation's industry. Ukraine can do well without Russia.

This is why Russian President Vladimir Putin will not cease agitations to annex Ukraine. Why are they so uncompromising in statesmanship? Because we let them. The land-grab policy does not make any sense for a territorial colossus.

It is hard to imagine that Tolstoy, Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Rachmaninoff, and Rimsky-Korsakov came from the same breed that also produced Stalin, the murderer of millions, Lavrentiy Beria, and Putin.

Europeans use obscene language when they describe Russia. You will hear the strangest adjectives used to describe Mother Russia.

After World War II, the Russians treated us as enemies. Their aggressive policy against America was seen in Europe, Africa, Vietnam, Cuba, Iran, and Syria.

Now, when the world is overrun by radicals both religious and political, Russia is at its opportunistic self. Another "Anschluss.'' Putin sends tanks to Ukraine.

America dispatched 250 paratroopers to Poland. That should scare the hell out of Putin, right?
