Purpose statement of the AAGO.

To educate licensed dentists to learn the art of repositioning teeth and developing arch forms as an adjunct to the complete treatment of their patients.

To develop its members' skills through education and clinical training; to improve occlusion consistent with accepted gnathologic concepts by use of the Crozat appliance and other orthopedic and orthodontic appliances.

To stimulate studies and promote better understanding and awareness by members of the Academy and the general public of the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of dental orthopedic and orthodontic problems.

To enhance the health, function and appearance of their patients through dental orthopedic and orthodontic treatment in an integrated health environment.
