A purging compound based on new reactive chemistry is said to remove all traces of barrel residue. Developed by Slide Products, Inc., Wheeling, Ill., NuPurge Technology (NPT) is an HDPE-based pellet concentrate whose heat-induced chemical action functions between 160 F and 600 F, eliminating need for multiple purging products. The ready-to-use compound can be poured directly into the machine throat. The recommended amount of this concentrated product--1.5 times barrel capacity--can substitute for up to twice as much cracked acrylic.
