Pupil's return ruled out over web 'slurs.

A TEENAGER who sent "career damaging" insults to his form teacher's cowboy website cannot return to his school.

The 15-year-old was expelled from Ysgol Bryn Elian in Colwyn Bay in October after putting abusive comments on to the site.

Yesterday, it was revealed an independent panel backed the school'sdecision to expel the pupil. Other pupils across Conwy county will be reminded of the dangers of writing comments on chatrooms. The 15-year-old was one of four pupils from the Windsor Drive school said to have sent comments to the Arizona Rangers website.

The website is dedicated to a charity group, which re-enacts cowboy shoot-outs, and features the Bryn Elian teacher. Some of the slurs were so serious social services were called in.

At the time, Bryn Elian head Stephen Matthews said: "We are deeply shocked a pupil might write this sort of thing and that a member of staff should be attacked." An appeal against the expulsion was dismissed, leading the pupil's family to go to an independent panel, held on Monday.

Conwy's head of secondary services Geraint James said: "There is a danger that extreme comments about an individual can be posted on a website chat room forgetting that they are in a very public place
