Punjab Assembly adopts 3 resolutions.
LAHORE:The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday unanimously adopted three private members' resolutions.
The House, through these resolutions, moved by lawmakers Muhammad Sibtain Khan of PTI, Dr Wasim Akhtar of JI and Hina Pervaiz Butt of PML-N, recommended the government to take strict action against fireworks and firing into the air at wedding functions, provide free transport to elderly and persons with disabilities on Speedo Bus Service and raise public awareness about seasonal influenza.
The House deferred another private member Ahmed Khan Bhicher's resolution on the request of the treasury and due to the absence of the mover concerned.
Earlier, the seventh sitting of the 34th session of the current assembly started with one hour and 41 minutes behind its schedule with Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal in the chair.
As many as 18 legislators were present at the outset of the sitting.
Soon after recitation from the Holy Quran, the House took up Question-Hour in which Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Chaudhry Malik Tanvir Aslam and Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare Mukhtar Ahmed Bhart answered the questions regarding their departments.
The Chair suspended the proceedings for 38 minutes due to absence of the secretary Communication and Works during the Question-Hour.
On completion of the day's agenda, the Chair adjourned the House to meet again on Wednesday at 10am.m
