Puncheon in court date on crutches.
Byline: LOUIE SMITH
CRYSTAL Palace captain Jason Puncheon appeared in court on crutches yesterday where he denied a public order offence and assault.
The charges follow an incident at a nightclub where Puncheon, 31, is said to have swung his belt at a group, hitting a doorman on the head with the buckle.
A third charge of possession of an offensive weapon was withdrawn.
The footballer, of Kingswood, Surrey, was hurt in a match against Manchester City on Sunday. He sat with his injured leg on another chair during the proceedings.
He was freed on bail at Guildford magistrates ahead of a trial at Staines magistrates court in June.
