THERE were 40 plus goals in both the Third and Fourth Divisions of the Liverpool Business Houses last week as new boys Pumptech found themselves 2-0 down after Paul Kavanagh and Craig Potter had put HJC Stadium ahead.
But goals from James Coulson, Mark Stevens, Ben Crowder and Andy Evans turned things around for a fine 4-2 win.
Quarry Green Reserves also found themselves in a similar position at half time against Silcocks as Geo Mullen struck twice but a Lew Boner hat-trick in the second half gave the Green the points in a 3-2 verdict and spare a thought for Peter Donnelly who scored all four goals for Mags only to finish on the losing side as Linton Paramount ran out 5-4 winners.
A double strike from Harris plus a Karvelas effort gave The Twelfth Man an easy 3-0 over Woodstreet and LWV Printworks had doubles from Patterson and Powell to help them to a 5-0 win at BRNESC Youth.
Top scorers Brick Originals had an easy 8-2 win over Greystone and Athletic Clubmoor and Halewood Town Athletic shared eight goals in a 4-4 draw. Gateacre Institute had Kev Hoskisson (2) and Simon Kauffman on target which wasn''t enough as Walton Hall Park managed to go one better with Roy Blair (2) Dave Fowell and Dan Devaney taking a 4-3 win.
A Dan Sallery hat-trick helped Mason's to a 7-1 win at Overton. Although Dermott O'Donnell was on target for Aki's Bar and Crosskeys had goals from Fitzgerald, Clarke and Martin Bragger to earn a fine 3-1 victory and The Pear Tree were comfortable 4-0 winners at Star of the Sea. Townsies did well with another win as Lew Norby (3), Tim Williams (2) and Callum Hogg were on target in the 6-2 win over Huyton Athletic and A C Croxteth had a fine 3-2 win at Marsh as goals from Johnson, Hedley and Patterson took all three points. In the Premier Division Fazakerley gained a hard earned 2-1 win at Thirly with Kevin Townson on target and Larkspur came out on top against Home & Bargain.
