Pulp and Paper Technical Association of Canada (PAPTAC).

The Pulp and Paper Technical Association of Canada (PAPTAC) presented Rajinder S. Seth with the John S. Bates Memorial Cold Medal on January 30, 2003. Seth has made outstanding contribution to the industry's basic understanding of papermaking through his extensive research in relating fibre properties, paper structure and process variables to the end use performance properties of paper and board. In addition honorary life membership was bestowed upon Donald B. Mutton. He joined PAPTAC in 1953 and was a very active member of the research committee. Since his retirement in 1990, he has been an associate editor of the Journal of Pulp and Paper Science.
