Publishers Weekly (PW), a weekly news magazine focused on the international book publishing business, revealed on Tuesday that fantasy author Ed Greenwood plans to launch his own publishing group this autumn.

Greenwood is best known as the creator of the Forgotten Realms universe for Dungeons and Dragons. He has published more than 200 fantasy and science-fiction novels over the past 30 years.

The Ed Greenwood Group (TEGG) will focus on publishing titles that are about newly created fantasy worlds , along with games and art. The first publication from TEGG will be titled Your World is Doomed by Greenwood, with the cover illustrated by Eric Belisle. Your World is Doomed will be released on Halloween and will be the first set in a demon-filled urban fantasy world called Hellmaw.

PW added that Greenwood has already signed up more than 100 authors, 30 game designers and 50 artisans who are interested in getting involved.

TEGG books and other items will be handled by ACD Distribution, a Wisconsin-based distributor of gaming products. TEGG has also reached a deal with Trajectory Inc for e-book distribution, as well as Trapdoor Technologies for enhanced e-books. The books will be simultaneously released in all formats.

In addition TEGG has reached a deal for first serialisation rights with Amazing Stories, a science fiction magazine that will publish the first three chapters of each TEGG book.
