Publisher to work with star poet.

THE first anthology of poetry by the renowned scientist, writer, broadcaster and surrealist artist Desmond Morris is being published by a North Wales firm who beat off global competition.

Multimedia artist and film-maker Dr Neil Coombs, who teaches Film and Media Studies at Coleg Llandrillo's Rhos-on-Sea Campus, owns Dark Windows Press, a small independent publishing company based in the town. Headworks is the second book that Neil has published by Desmond Morris after Neil published the fantasy story 'Inrock' last year.

Headworks" includes poems written between 1945 and 2014.

The poems are illustrated by paintings that Morris produced in 2013, a series of strange heads painted in his own inimitable surrealist style.

But Morris is perhaps best known for his literary and TV work.

After 47 years, his book "The Naked Ape" (1967) continues to be a best-seller.
