Public sector's no rose garden.

REGARDING the letter from David Johnson (October 5) telling us that public sector workers have a pension scheme which is linked to a final salary, something which the private sector can only dream about.

This is not true for all new recruits, many of which are part-time, employed on temporary contracts, usually for a maximum of 12 months which in many cases are never renewed. No pension rights there.

So before David Johnson goes on about these supposedly marvellous concessions public sector workers enjoy and how grateful they should be, he should check out the full facts first where he will find not everything is a bed of roses for these workers.
